How do you pimp your water? 💧🍓🍋🥒🍉

Water makes up about 60 per cent of your body and if that percentage drops by just two per cent, your body begins to dry out, your bodily functions decline and you function less well. Drinking water therefore ensures that your fluid balance is maintained and that your body can function optimally. On average, an adult needs 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day to function properly. This is equivalent to about 6 to 8 glasses. But drinking water is sometimes boring and monotonous.

Here are a few tips to pimp your water:

  • Use a cool beverage cup-pot-bottle depending on where you need your water (at home, on the road, at school or at work)
  • Make ice cubes from fruit and/or herbs so you can always make tasty pimped water quickly.
  • Ice cubes let your water stay fresh longer and also looks nice
  • If you like to drink fizzy water, add it at the last minute
  • Choose different flavours regularly so it does not become too monotonous:
  1. All citrus fruits are tasty; lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange,...
  2. choose the fruit of the season e.g. now the red fruit (strawberries, red berries, raspberries, cranberries, blackberries and black and blue berries.
  3. infuse (= let it soak in) your water by placing it in the fridge a while in advance
  4. Some combinations I like: mint with lime / strawberries with basil / mint-lemon-ginger-cucumber / watermelon and rosemary/ orange-cucumber-mint/ raspberry with blueberry / pineapple with ginger... Dare to combine!
